Terms of Service
Last updated October 25, 2026
Welcome to ShinePoint, operated by Richard David Rodriguez Padilla DBA ShinePoint. By accepting these terms or booking a detail you agree to them. Please read them carefully.
1. The marketplace
ShinePoint connects vehicle owners (customers) with mobile detailing businesses (detailers). The detailer identified in your booking performs the service. ShinePoint provides the marketplace and booking support. These terms do not determine anyone’s employment status or waive rights under applicable employment law.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your login secure. You're responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 to use ShinePoint, and you confirm your age when you join.
3. Bookings & payments
Prices are set by detailers. Payment is processed securely through Stripe; ShinePoint retains a platform fee from each completed booking; the fee comes out of the detailer's price and is never added to your total. Tips go to the detailer. You can cancel for free up to 4 hours before your appointment. After that, or if no one is at the address after your detailer has arrived and waited 10 minutes from the later of arrival or the scheduled appointment, your detailer keeps a fee based on the job total ($10 under $30, $20 under $50, $30 under $100, $40 up to $300, $50 over $300) and the rest is refunded. The fee cannot exceed the job total or the amount actually collected. If your detailer does not show up, you are refunded in full. Reports are logged, and ShinePoint reviews any disagreement.
4. Conduct
Do not use ShinePoint to evade fees on a booking arranged through the platform, harass others, or knowingly submit false information. Detailers may maintain their own clients and work elsewhere. We may restrict accounts for documented violations or repeated no-shows. An unsuccessful complaint or an honest negative review is not by itself misconduct. Contact support to request review of an account restriction.
5. Damage & disputes
Detailers document vehicle condition before work begins. Report damage or a service problem in the app so support can review evidence from both sides. The app requires Stripe identity verification for disputes on jobs over $200 or after your first dispute. Verification and dispute review are free: we do not charge a fee because a dispute is unsuccessful. If you cannot verify your identity or use the app, email shinepoint.support@gmail.com for help and manual review. Losing a dispute does not establish fraud. This process does not waive your applicable rights to contact your payment provider, a regulator, or a court.
6. Liability
ShinePoint provides the platform "as is." To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the acts of independent detailers or customers, and our total liability for any claim about a booking is limited to the amount paid for that booking. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for fraud or our own gross negligence. An insurance badge reflects reviewed documentation, not a guarantee that an incident is covered or coverage remains in force. Coverage depends on the insurer and policy terms.
7. For detailers
Detailers set their prices, hours, service area and methods, use their own tools and products, and may accept or decline requests. Employment status depends on applicable law and actual working arrangements. You are responsible for any business licenses and taxes, and for following local rules, including keeping wash water and chemicals out of storm drains. Information you give about your insurance must be true and current; the Insured badge is removed when the policy on file expires. ShinePoint keeps a platform fee from each completed job: 15% of the service price on jobs under $100, stepping down to 13% from $100, 11% from $250, 9% from $500 and 7% from $1,000. The fee is taken from your payout; tips are 100% yours. Payouts normally become eligible for release after a 48-hour hold following completion. The first 3 jobs also require administrative payout approval; unresolved disputes and payment-provider restrictions can delay release. Bank processing adds time after release, and refunds, chargebacks or dispute outcomes on your jobs may be deducted from your future payouts or otherwise recovered from you. Payouts are processed by Stripe under the Stripe Connected Account Agreement.
8. Photos and content you post
You keep ownership of content you upload and give ShinePoint a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store and display it as needed for features you choose. Public profiles and portfolio galleries are public. Booking evidence is used for the job, support and disputes; it can also be viewed by anyone holding the customer’s valid signed tracking link. Uploading private evidence does not authorize ShinePoint to use it in advertising; we will request separate permission. Upload only content and client information you are authorized to share. Avoid unnecessarily exposing faces, license plates, home details or other personal information. Report copyright concerns to shinepoint.support@gmail.com with the work and its location.
9. Responsibility for your actions
To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for reasonable losses from third-party claims caused by your unlawful conduct, material breach of these terms, or services you perform. This does not require you to cover ShinePoint’s negligence, fraud, willful misconduct, or obligations that cannot legally be transferred. We will notify you of a claim and give you a reasonable opportunity to respond. No settlement may impose an admission or nonmonetary obligation on you without your consent. Your nonwaivable consumer and worker rights remain.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Unless the law requires otherwise, disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and either side may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court.
11. Changes
We will identify the effective date of updates and explain material changes in the app. Changes to fees, cancellation rules or other rights require acceptance before new bookings under the new version. Existing bookings retain the terms and prices applicable when booked unless the parties expressly agree otherwise or the law requires a change. If you decline updated terms, contact support to finish existing obligations, request refund review, or exercise privacy rights.
12. SMS & text messaging
Text updates are optional and are not required to book or use ShinePoint. With the applicable permission, messages may include verification codes, booking reminders, tracking links, schedule notices, and a requested invitation or opt-in confirmation. Frequency depends on the features and bookings you use. Permission for booking updates does not authorize unrelated marketing. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help; you can also contact support. We do not sell or share mobile information with third parties for their marketing.
